Hard drive constantly working windows 8

Any idea on that? Thanks for any help. Go to Solution. Thanks for the reply. It does it all the time and it isn't an update. I can recognize updating. The pc will be running fine. I am not doing any resource heavy operations at the time. View solution in original post. Sorry I don't have answer. I have similar issue on my HD too.

I am hoping what you find out might work for me too. Does it do it all the time? Most likely a windows update installing. I would restart or shut down and you will get the message option to update on shut down. Click "Optimization", and then choose "File Showing". Step 3. Select the drive with a corrupted file system. Tick the "Check and fix file system error" option and click "Execute".

Step 4. Wait the tool performs the repairing task. After that, click the "here" button to check the drive. If you still experience the error after trying all of the above methods, we recommend using the EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard. This excellent hard drive data recovery program can help you retrieve files from inaccessible drives and can be a lifesaver when you fear you've lost your data. Use "Filter" or "Search" to find the lost files on the selected hard drive.

Select all the files you want and click "Recover", and browse another secure location to save them. Once the data recovery is complete, you are now able to reformat the drive and hopefully get it back to a healthy state. On the overview screen click on the Disk section down arrow to see a list of all processes and the files they are writing or reading from your drives.

Click on the Read, Write or Total headings to sort all disk operations to identify which process and file is currently using the disk the most. You will now see the new columns listed for each process. To identify what process is killing your hard drive, just look for the process with the highest number of Reads or Bytes.

Thanks for your feedback. Is there a way to make this constant HDD activity stop? This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I have the same question Report abuse.
